How vendors are packaging AI for IT operations — and what SAP teams can learn from it
Acronis, a cybersecurity and data-protection vendor, is promoting a virtual event on using AI to transform workflows for managed service providers (MSPs). The pitch is deliberately down to earth: less AI hype, more practical tools that take routine work off busy IT teams.

The pattern worth noticing
- Workflow first, model second. The message is about everyday tasks such as monitoring, reporting and ticket handling, not about the model behind them.
- "AI that works" is the new selling line. Buyers are tired of demos; vendors now lead with practicality.
- Narrow, repeatable processes win first. Automation lands where the process is well defined and the data is already structured.
What this means for SAP landscapes
The same logic applies to SAP. The quickest AI wins are rarely a grand transformation; they are focused agents on a repeatable process such as Order-to-Cash: investigating a credit-blocked order, a delayed delivery or a billing block, then recommending the fix. That is the thinking behind the saptoai O2C Agent prototype in our Portfolio, and the questions in the AI Readiness Assessment: process standardisation, master data quality and API access matter more than the choice of model.
